The meeting was called at 12:11 p.m. and was attended by 11 members and one guest: Tania Fragomeno, Brenda Gettig, Darcy Konold, Hannah Zhao, Natalie Williams, Ferdonya Henderson, Jessie Wang, Jose de la Torre, Rob Cross, Doug Goodman, and Don Wiggins.
· Sergeant-at-Arms Ferdonya Henderson led the Pledge of Allegiance and introduced Vice President of Education Darcy Konold.
· Darcy called the meeting to order and went over the day’s agenda to fill functionaries. She welcomed everyone in attendance and introduced the word of the week and theme. She asked for self introductions of those present. Darcy introduced the meeting’s Toastmaster, Hannah Zhao.
o Theme: They Say It’s Your Birthday
o Word of the Week: Presentiment
· Hannah introduced Vice President of Public Relations Brenda Gettig. Brenda presented an Educational Moment on the functions of the public relations position.
· Hannah introduced the day’s speakers.
o Speaker #1, Darcy Konold, presented an advanced speech. Her speech topic was how to achieve a high performance leadership award.
o Speaker #2, Natalie Williams, presented speech CC #3. Her speech topic was about organic food and what people should take into consideration when purchasing this type of product.
• Hannah introduced Table Topics Master Tania Fragomeno. Tania asked questions pertaining to the week’s theme and word of the week. She called upon Rob Cross, guest Armando, Don Wiggins, and Jessie Wang.
• Hannah introduced the day’s General Evaluator, Jose de la Torre. Jose introduced the team of evaluators:
o Brenda Gettig evaluated Speaker #1, Darcy Konold.
o Ferdonya Henderson evaluated Speaker #2, Natalie Williams.
o Don Wiggins provided the grammarian/ah counter’s report.
o Jessie Wang provided the timer’s report.
o For leadership evaluations, Doug Goodman evaluated Hannah.
• Hannah announced best of awards:
o Best Speaker: Natalie Williams.
o Best Evaluator: Brenda Gettig.
o Best Table Topics Speaker: Don Wiggins
o Hannah presented a First Timer ribbon to guest Armando.
• Hannah asked for club announcements:
o Darcy announced the regional conference is June 2nd in San Diego. Visit d5toastmasters.org for an application to attend. Brenda also has a schedule of activities. New regional representatives will be elected at the conference.
• Darcy adjourned the meeting at 1:03 p.m.

The meeting was called at 12:09 p.m. and was attended by 12 members and three guests: Ferdonya Henderson, Tania Fragomeno, Jim Tucker, Darcy Konold, Rob Cross, Don Wiggins, Jose de la Torre, Barbara Nedd, Hannah Zhao, Matt Greenbergs, Natalie Williams, and Stephanie Love-Payne.
· Sergeant-at-arms Ferdonya Henderson led the Pledge of Allegiance and introduced acting president, VP of Education Darcy Konold.
· Darcy opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. She introduced Toastmaster Don Wiggins.
· Toastmaster introduced the theme, Maps to the Future, and the WOW, malapropism. The attendees participated in a round of introductions, using the week’s theme.
· Toastmaster introduced Club Secretary Tania Fragomeno for the Educational Moment. Upcoming meetings will feature Educational Moments by each of the club officers explaining their role. This is being done in preparation for club elections to be held in June. Tania explained the role of club secretary.
· Toastmaster introduced the first speaker, Jose de la Torre. Jose presented his CC #9 and spoke about the use of E-mail as a communication tool.
· Toastmaster introduced the second speaker, Hannah Zhao. Hannah presented a speech from an advanced manual. The purpose of her speech was to tell a story. She told the story behind the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day.
· Toastmaster introduced Table Topics Master Rob Cross. Rob called upon Natalie Williams and guest Marvin. Natalie received the Table Topics award.
• Toastmaster introduced the General Evaluator, Jim Tucker. Jim introduced his team of evaluators:
o Darcy Konold evaluated speaker #1, Jose.
o Ferdonya Henderson evaluated speaker #2, Hannah.
o Natalie Williams provided the grammarian/ah counter’s report.

• There were no awards given for best speaker or best evaluator.

Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 12:15PM by Sgt at Arms Ferdonya Henderson. The Pledge of Allegiance followed. Sgt @ Arms Henderson in the absence of our President Rhonda Walthall turned the meeting over to Matt Greenbergs.

Matt Greenbergs introduced the Toastmaster of the day Jose De La Torre.
Jose De La Torre spoke on the Theme for this meeting: Leonardo da Vinci and the Word of the Week: “Philomath” (Fl luh math) – One who loves learning!
Jose shared that his brother collects da Vinci memorabilia and it was interesting to learn that not only was da Vinci a Painter he was also an Inventor.
Once all Functions on the Agenda were covered Self Introductions followed. Everyone including our two Guest, Virginia (GiGi) Abrogina and Stephanie Love-Payne used the Word of the Week, Philomath.
Our Guest wanted to know about the Evaluation Form in which Jim Tucker, Don Wiggins and Ferdonya Henderson gave an explanation.
The Education Moment given by Ferdonya Henderson was on the using the Lectern or not using the Lectern.
Speaker Jim Tucker spoke on “Trust the Failure”. As usual Job Well Done!
Jose gave an explanation of Table Topics, advised the Guest they could participate and then turned control over to Table Topics Master Matt Greenbergs.
Matt Greenbergs gave additional explanation and called on the following.
Hannah Zhao: Do you have a favorite word? What is your favorite word? Hannah - “Determine”
GiGi: In the Movie the Da Vinci Code, da Vinci had a primary message. What was the Primary Message? Gigi has not seen the da Vinci Code. Matt let her know she could talk on a movie that she has seen. Gigi spoke on “Note Book” A couple with Alzheimer’s and how they were committed to each other.
Stephanie Love-Payne: Based along the idea of Philomath, what is the best lesson you have learned?
Lessons learned are about Love & Patience.
Control was turned over to General Evaluator Don Wiggins.
Hannah Zhao evaluated Jim Tucker – Job Well Done
