· Hannah introduced the Immediate Past President, Rhonda Walthall, who led the Officer Elections for the term of January 1 – June 30, 2008. The election results were as follows:
o Sergeant-at-Arms: Byron Shovlain
o Treasurer: Jose de la Torre
o Secretary: Ferdonya Henderson
o VP Public Relations: Rhonda Walthall
o VP Membership: Jennifer Ebner
o VP Education: Brenda Gettig
o President: Matt Greenbergs
· Hannah introduced the scheduled speaker, Jackie.
o The title of Jackie’s speech was “Food for Thought” and it was her CC-2 speech. Jackie spoke of her Italian grandmother who taught her how to cook lasagna in the basement of her New Jersey home. Jackie gave us some tips on making lasagna. First, use only Ronzoni pasta. Second, boil the pasta noodles until it is al dente or pliable and rinse in cold water. Third, use one pound of Ricotta cheese, one handful of fresh grated parmesan cheese, and two handfuls of fresh grated mozzarella cheese. Fourth, cut the tomatoes in half, squeeze the seeds out, turn upside down and cover with a pinch of olive oil, salt, pepper, and basil. Broil the tomatoes to blacken the skin. Remove the skin and retrieve the pulp and juice for the sauce. If fresh tomatoes are not available, Prego has Jackie’s seal of approval. Fifth, layer the lasagna noodles, sauce, and cheese, and bake. Jackie’s tradition is to serve lasagna to guests who are first time visitors to her home. She concluded by raising a toast to all the members and guests who were enjoying her wonderful, generous meal. Jackie spoke for 5:36 minutes.
· Hannah introduced the Table Topics Master, Rob Cross. Rob led a great round of Table Topics. The Table Topics Speakers were:
o Rhonda – Tell a story about strange things that happened to you or you have heard about. Rhonda spoke about cows and people and blue ice falling from aircraft. Rhonda spoke for 1:31 minutes.
o Darcy – What would you do if you won a million dollars in the lottery? Darcy said that she would renovate her house, pay bills, and save the rest. Darcy spoke for 1:05 minutes.
