Meeting Minutes - March 14, 2007
The meeting was called at 12:07 p.m. and was attended by 13 members and no guests: Rhonda Walthall, Ferdonya Henderson, Tania Fragomeno, Jim Tucker, Darcy Konold, Doug Goodman, Jessie Wang, Matt Greenbergs, Brenda Gettig, Barbara Nedd, Susan Perez, Jose de la Torre, and Hannah Zhao.
· Theme: The Leprechaun vs. O’Malley
· WOW: Pithily
· Sergeant-at-arms Ferdonya Henderson led the Pledge of Allegiance and introduced President Rhonda Walthall.
· President Walthall opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. The meeting was set up as a mock trial. The case story “The Leprechaun vs. O’Malley” was explained. Attendees picked roles out of a grab bag. The roles were as follows:
· Judge: President Walthall
· Bailiff: Matt Greenbergs
· Prosecutor: Jim Tucker
· Plaintiff (Leprechaun): Barbara Nedd
· Prosecution Witness: Susan Perez
· Defense Attorney: Brenda Gettig
· Defendant (Martha O’Malley): Tania Fragomeno
· Defense Witness: Jessie Wang
· Jury Foreman: Doug Goodman
· Jury: Hannah Zhao and Ferdonya Henderson
· Timer: Darcy Konold
· The prosecution and defense had five minutes to prepare their stories. Opening statements were given by the prosecution, Jim Tucker, and the defense, Brenda Gettig. The attorneys each called two witnesses and had the opportunity to cross examine: Barbara Nedd, Susan Perez, Tania Fragomeno, and Jessie Wang. The prosecution and defense gave closing statements. All statements by the role players were given impromptu.
· The jury met to deliberate. They found the defendant not guilty.
• Judge Walthall adjourned the meeting.
