Meeting Minutes - Dec 13, 2006

Dec. 13, 2006
The meeting was called at 12:07 p.m., and was attended by 14 members:Darcy Konold, Joe Stewart, Rhonda Walthall, Don Wiggins, Rob Cross, Frida Vissuet, Ferdonya Henderson, Tania Fragomeno, Molly Frisbie, Elizabeth Locano, Jose de La Torre, Brenda Gettig, Norma Toothman and Hannah Zhao.

12:07: Sergeant at Arms-Jose de La Torre called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
12:08: President Darcy Konold opened the meeting and introduced Toastmaster Hannah Zhao.
12:08: Toastmaster introduced the week’s theme and WOW.
Theme: World Peace
WOW: dichotomy
12:09: Toastmaster welcomed members and guests and asked for self-introductions of those present.
12:21: Toastmaster introduced speakers.
o Speaker #1, Frida Vissuet, presenting speech CC-10.
o Speaker #2, Don Wiggins, presenting a specialty speech - Speaking off the Cuff.
12:45: Toastmaster introduced Table Topics Master Joe Stewart. Joe Stewart called upon Brenda, Norma Toothman and Elizabeth Locano.
12:51: Toastmaster introduced the day’s General Evaluator, Rhonda Walthall. Rhonda introduced her team of evaluators:
o Molly Frisbie evaluated Frida Vissuet.
o Darcy Konold evaluated Don Wiggins.
o Jose de La Torre was Grammarian/Ah counter.
o Ferdonya Henderson was Timer.
o Rhonda Walthall as General Evaluator was evaluated by Darcy Konold for the leadership evaluation.
1:01: Toastmaster announced best of awards:
o Best Speaker: Don Wiggins.
o Best Evaluator: Molly Frisbie.
o Best Table Topics Speaker: Brenda
1:04: Toastmaster welcomed President Darcy Konold, who made club announcements.
o Three club officers attended the early bird officers training. The next training will be in January.
o Members are encouraged to sign up as evaluator for the upcoming speaking contests.
o Rob Cross is hosting an orphan dinner at his home on Dec 25. Contact Rob for more information.
Madame President adjourned the meeting.

Meetng Minutes for Nov 29, 2006

The meeting was called at 12:10 p.m., and was attended by 16 members and one guest, including: Matt Greenbergs, Darcy Konold, Joe Stewart, Rhonda Walthall, Don Wiggins, Rob Cross, Frida Vissuet, Jessie Wang, Ferdonya Henderson, Tania Fragomeno, Fabio Bottalico, Jim Tucker, Molly Frisbie, Elizabeth Lacono, Dee Williams and Hannah Zhao.

• Sergeant at Arms-elect Ferdonya Henderson called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
• Ferdonya introduced theme, WOW and Toastmaster Matt Greenbergs.
• Toastmaster welcomed members and guests and asked for self-introductions of those present.
• Toastmaster led induction of new and reinstated members: Elizabeth Lacono, Ferdonya Henderson and Tania Fragomeno.
• Toastmaster introduced speakers.
o Speaker #1, Joe Stewart, presenting speech ACB-2.
o Speaker #2, Hannah Zhao, presenting speech ACB-9.
• Molly Frisbie led Table Topics. She called upon Dee Williams, Fabio Bottalico and Rob Cross.
• Toastmaster introduced the day’s General Evaluator, Ferdonya. She introduced her team of evaluators:
o Jessie Wang evaluated Joe Stewart – ACB-2.
o Darcy Konold evaluated Hannah Zhao – ACB-9.
o Elizabeth Lacono was Grammarian/Ah counter.
o Rhonda Walthall was Timer and was evaluated by Fabio Bottalico, Leadership Evaluator.
• Toastmaster announced best of awards:
o Best Speaker: Joe Stewart.
o Best Evaluator: Jessie Wang and Darcy Konold.
o Best Table Topics Speaker: Fabio Bottalico.
• Toastmaster welcomed President Darcy Konold, who made club announcements.
o New board training will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. at Solar Turbines.
o The Dec. 20th Toastmasters meeting will be a potluck. Frida Vissuet, as Activities Chair, will help coordinate.
o SDG&E is holding a fundraising employee talent show on Dec. 11.
