Theme: Winter Carnival
WOW: Aurora Borealis – A colorful display in the northern sky caused by electrically charged particles from space impacting the earth’s upper atmosphere. Ex. Attendees at the St. Paul Winter Carnival are often treated to a radiant night-time display of the Aurora Borealis.

Minutes
 
The meeting was called at 12:05, and was attended by twenty members, guests, and a new guest, including: Rhonda Walthall, Alfred Balagtas, Dee Williams, Matt Greenbergs, Joe Stewart, Frida Vissuet, Rob Cross, Jose de la Torre, Hannah Zhao, Don Wiggins, Norma Toothman, Jim Tucker, Wenyn Zhao, Roxanne Russell, Paul Pitt, Doug Goodman & Dexter, Amir, Arnold Ah Yuen, Darcy Konold, and Dick Larkin.
 
12:05  Sergeant at Arms Alfred Balagtas led the pledge of allegiance and introduced the President Darcy Konold.
 
12:07  The President introduced the Toastmaster of the Day, Dee Williams. 
 
12:08  Dee Williams introduced the theme of the day ("Good fences make good neighbors",) and WOW. ("Contiguous - Two or more objects that are adjacent to each other; sharing a boundary."  Dee welcome members and new guest, and invited everybody to introduce themselves using the WOW.
 
12:20  Educational Moment:  Dee W. invited to the lectern the VP of Membership, Joe Stewart.  Joe explained the New Awards and Leadership Program that will be in effect on July 01, 2006.  Joe encouraged the members to set goals for 2006.
 
12:23   Dee introduced the first schedule speaker, Jim Tucker.  
           Speech # 3; Theme:  Get to the point;  Subject:  "Hit more targets"
           Jim started his speech asking:  if you have a chance to live over your live, could you do it better?  How would you do it differently?  Would you hit more targets?  Jim gave us three suggestions:  a) believe that is possible, b) believe you are capable, and c) let go and let god.
 
12:37   Dee introduced the second schedule speaker, Darcy Konold.
           Speech # ATMS-9; Theme:  "Preparation & Practice."
           Darcy's speech was about how we prepare and practice for a great opportunity to speak in public.  Do we use more time to prepare? or do we use more time to practice?  Darcy gave us some hints that we need to know for a public speech:  a) setting of the place, b) audience, and c) logistics of the place.
 
 No Table of Topics
 
12:52    Dee welcomed the General Evaluator, Rhonda Walthall.

The meeting started on time, and was attended by twenty members, guests, and a new guest, including: Rhonda Walthall, Alfred Balagtas and two daughters, Byron Shovlain, Dee Williams, Matt Greenbergs Joe Stewart, Jimmie Webb, Frida Vissuet, Rob Cross, Jose de la Torre, Hannah Zhao, Dick Larkin, Don Wiggins, Norma Toothman, Peter Chen, Jim Tucker, Debra Fradelis, Molly Frisbie, Stephen Jaworski and Wenyn Zhao.
 
Sergeant at Arms Alfred Balagtas led the pledge of allegiance and introduced VP of Education and Toastmaster Rhonda Walthall.  
 
Rhonda introduced the theme of the day ("Out with the old and in with the new"), and WOW. ("Auld Land Syne.")  Rhonda welcome members and new guest, and invited everybody to introduce themselves using the WOW and their New Year's resolution and hopes.
 
The meeting had no educational moment. 
 
The Toastmaster introduced the 1st speaker, Jose de la Torre. The title of Jose's CTM-4 speech was " Resolving to do something."  Jose's speech was about New Year's tradition.  He gave us a little bit of history of the celebration of New Year's.  He mentioned the top ten New Year's resolutions.
 
  
The Toastmaster introduced the second Speaker, Dick Larkin.  Dick's speech was ATMS-6, and title "The Yellow Pages and Small Business."  Dick gave a brief history of the yellow pages versus the Internet search.  Since 1995, a new yellow pages book is published every month.  Internet search made an impact  to find local business,  at no cost for small business.  Dick gave three websites where anybody can look for local business for free:  1) Google, 2) Yahoo, and 3) Super pages of Verizon.
 
Rhonda introduced the Table of Topics Master, Frida Vissuet.  The theme of the Table of Topics "Everything Legal."   The cost of a living trust, and the cost of not having a living trust.  
 
Rhonda:  She does not have a living trust for the last 5 years.  She is trying to have one made.
 
Rob:  He incorporated his business two years ago.
 
General Evaluator:  Don Wiggins.
 
                Molly did a great job evaluating Jose's speech and Byron did a great job evaluating Dick's speech.
 
                Grammar and ah counter was taken by Norma.
               
                Time was scored by Hannah.   
 
                Don, GE, gave advise of how to run the meeting, stating the managing the time is very important,
                and speakers should stick with their time allowed.

                Best Evaluator:  Molly  Frisbie 
 
Rhonda adjourned the meeting at 1 pm.
